The Sequoia Practice [Workshop]

Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart

Duration:

2-3 hrs total, depending on the inclusion of the Neuromeditation Demonstration

Description

The Sequoia Practice is a unique meditation technique based on the emerging Contemplative Neuroscience research of Focus (concentration), Quiet Mind (mantra based), Open Heart (loving kindness) and Mindfulness best practices. In it, Jonathan presents a slide deck lecture on the brain science behind the different experiences created by different meditation styles. He shows how Breathwork affects the autonomic nervous system and demonstrates a real-time EEG/HRV NeuroMeditation session so that you can see what happens in the brain during meditation.  Lastly, he leads a guided Sequoia Meditation practice to give you the experience of different meditation states. There is also time for Q + A. Individuals who wish to experience Neuromeditation have the opportunity to book a 1 hour private with him before or after the workshop.

About Jonathan

Four years ago while on a meditation retreat Jonathan haphazardly experienced a profound, peak meditation state which persisted for months. Since then he has spent countless hours studying, training and deconstructing the experience to systematically create a method that safely and consistently guides people ‘There’. In the process of creating his proprietary technique called The Sequoia Practice he trained under the creator of Open Focus, the renowned meditation psychologist and neurofeedback pioneer Dr. Les Fehmi. He furthered his training with expert meditation, psychedelic researcher and founder of the Neuromeditation Institute, Dr. Jeff Tarrant. Jonathan has gone on to lead hundreds of hours of private and group meditation experience with his clear and energetic presentation and guidance.
